Nurse Support Practitioner – Gateshead
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual who is experienced in complex mental health care, preferably dementia, to join our specialist team as a Nursing Support Practitioner.
You will be joining a team of professionals within Pinetree Lodge, a 24-hour specialist dementia care unit for older people, commissioned by the NHS. Your main role will be to be to assist our residents in the general domestic routine of their home and to provide clear and positive leadership to Support Workers. To be successful in the role, you will be passionate about delivering person-centred dementia care, possessing good communication and interpersonal skills and will have recent experience caring for people with dementia, preferably as a Support Worker.
About you
We would love to hear from you, if you possess the following:
- Experience of working with people who have enduring and complex mental health needs, who can present with behaviours that challenge.
- GCSE Maths and English minimum Grade C (or equivalent qualification).
- NVQ Level 3 (or greater) in Health and Social Care – this is not essential, but if you do not have this, you must undertake this course within the role.
- Genuine desire to work with this client group.
- Able to work under pressure/possess a high level of emotional resilience.
