It’s Men’s Health Week! The theme of the week this year (13 – 20 June 2016) is stress.
As we know, our mental health is just as important as our physical health. Unfortunately, men are significantly less likely than women to address issues with their mental health – just 38% of people accessing talking therapy services are male, and yet men account for 78% of recorded suicides in the UK.
The Men’s Health Forum has produced a booklet giving tips about how to tackle stress: Beat Stress Feel Better. Below is an infographic giving some key facts about male stress, highlighting just how important it is for men to feel comfortable to talk about their mental health. There is absolutely no shame in getting help when we feel like we can’t cope!
Insight Healthcare, our sister organisation, provides free, confidential NHS talking therapy services across the country. These services can help you to deal with all kinds of common mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, and anger.
