It’s World Mental Health Day!

Today is World Mental Health Day! This year’s theme is ‘mental health in the workplace’.

Work can be fulfilling and satisfying, but it can also make us feel stressed or low. We have chosen to highlight the Five Ways to Wellbeing in our activity for World Mental Health Day this year, and how they can help us to achieve balance at work.

The Five Ways are:

  1. Connect
  2. Be active
  3. Take notice
  4. Learn
  5. Give

We have created some graphics about how the Five Ways can be applied to our lives in the workplace–please download them below and share them far and wide on social media!

Where can I get help?

We all do our best to manage our mental health, but sometimes our stress or mood can affect our day-to-day lives and we feel that we can’t cope. It is important to know that you are not alone, and you can ask for help.

We offer a range of services for all kinds of mental health needs, including community groups to tackle isolation and build confidence, dementia care, and rehabilitation and recovery services. Find out more here: www.mentalhealthconcern.org/our-services

Our sister organisation, Insight Healthcare, also provides free, confidential talking therapies across the country on behalf of the NHS. Find a service here: www.insighthealthcare.org/our-services/talking-therapies/find-a-service

If we don’t provide a service in your area, check the NHS Choices website to find your nearest service: www.nhs.uk
