We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a further £500 by Tesco Bags of Help, which will allow us to continue creating wellbeing boxes for people who are shielding or isolated!
Tesco’s Bags of Help fund has kindly donated another £500 grant to Mental Health Concern, as part of the supermarket’s continued response to the COVID-19 crisis. The fund, which is run in partnership with Groundwork UK, was set up to support local communities during the pandemic, and is now open for its second round of funding. We are so grateful to be chosen again, as one of the recipients of this vital support!
The grant will help our Chain Reaction service to continue to provide wellbeing boxes to older people who are isolated – many of whom don’t have access to online resources or social media, so they’ve been finding it increasingly difficult to stay connected to others.
The boxes include craft materials, tasty snacks, flower and vegetable seeds and potting materials, playing cards, and many other items aiming to keep spirits high! We have already had some brilliant feedback about how the boxes have boosted people’s moods significantly during lockdown, and it is brilliant that we’re now able to continue to do this.
As this time continues to be one of concern and worry for many, it is brilliant that Tesco is continuing to support us to help those that need it most! We are so grateful and want to thank Tesco and Groundwork UK for their continued support!
Our Chain Reaction service supports people aged 55 and over to lead happier, healthier lives, by supporting friendships to help combat social isolation and improve overall emotional health and wellbeing.
