A summer of fundraising

Now that the temperature has dropped, we thought it’s probably time to accept that summer is over and share with you the amazing summer fundraising stories from across our services.

Jubilee Mews

The team at Jubilee Mews (one of our 24-hour nursing services) hosted their annual summer garden party in mid-August.

Despite the rain, the team still pulled off a BBQ, tombola, plant sale, and a raffle! This was followed by an afternoon tea with a visit from Smurf, a miniature pony, in September. Well done to all involved for all the hard work!

Housing with Care and Support

Our ‘Acts of Kindness Fund’, set up by our Supported Housing service, has now raised over £700.

Fundraising was kicked off in April with a firewalk, followed by a summer fair (complete with pizza van), in August.

Alan, who is our Head of Housing With Care and Support, has just come back from France, where he undertook a sponsored cycle from Normandy to Nice.

Alan cycled for an incredible 908 miles over two weeks, and climbed 63,000 feet!

A huge thank you to the team, what an effort. You can still donate to their fund here: www.justgiving.com/campaign/HWCAS

Oakwell

Following their success climbing Ben Nevis last year, the team from Oakwell took on Scafell Pike (pictured top) to raise money for the unit. The team planned on following a nine-mile route, but ended up walking for 16 miles! They raised over £600 – well done team Oakwell.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our services – keep your eyes peeled for future fundraising opportunities and events!
